Nestled at 9,494 feet above sea level is the old mining town of Cripple Creek. This town once played host to the men seeking fortune during the gold rush days. By 1894, almost 6,000 residents put up homes or camps hoping to make it big. However the town also attracted its share of troublemakers, and were housed at the local jail while they awaited their fate... and some never left.
